Development of Entrepot marina

June 2010 – To boost the economy, employment, tourism and the leisure sector in Zeeburg, a marina is being developed in the Entrepot Wharf in Amsterdam. For the foundations of the jetties, De Boer Staal has delivered tubular piles (grade X60) with rounded tops. De Boer Snijbedrijf cut the tops to size.

The new marina is on Cruquius Island in the Eastern Port Area, where land and water, housing and working, old and new, all meet. The historical warehouses lining the Entrepot Wharf emphasise the original nautical atmosphere. The Entrepot Marina will provide moorings for about two hundred medium-sized pleasure vessels and facilities for tourist boats.

For the foundations of the Entrepot Marina, De Boer Staal supplied 24 tonnes of steel tubular piles 20.3 metres long, with a diameter of 406.4x10 mm (X60 grade), for Woud Wormer from West-Knollendam. The tubular piles have rounded heads that De Boer Snijbedrijf cut to size. Woud Wormer, which specialises in supplying and installing foundations and foundation piles, positioned the preserved piles in the marina in Amsterdam. Now the foundations are in place, the berths can be completed.
